Crane Collapses In New York City Killing At Least One

Television images showed the crane lying on top of several crushed vehicles. One person has died and at least three people are injured, according to NBC 4 NY.

The large crane, located on Worth Street between West Broadway and Church Street, crashed down around 8:24 a.m., the New York Post reported. There are reports that people are trapped. One Fox 5 viewer also reported that that block is often used by parents bringing their children to school at a nearby school. The stability of the buildings struck by the crane is being checked by the Department of Buildings.

Subway trains are bypassing the area due to the collapsed crane.
