West Brom resume Sako talks
Former Wolves midfielder Bakary Sako is in talks to cross the Black Country divide and join West Bromwich Albion.
Sako is now a free agent following the expiration of his contract at Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer and it was no surprise to see Pulis expressing his interest in signing the Malian worldwide.
However, West Brom have held a long-term interest in Sako and Baggies boss Tony Pulis has decided to push through a deal for the Mali worldwide.
Even just two weeks ago a deal for the 27-year-old was improbable with the Baggies having no further contact with Sako’s camp.
HITC Sport understands former Wolves star Bakary Sako is flying into England for a medical and talks with West Brom.
Albion were keen to bring Sako to The Hawthorns in January but Wolves did not want to sell the player while they chased a place in the Championship play-offs.
Albion, who have signed winger James McClean, have been linked with a series of widemen including QPR’s Matt Phillips and Nottingham Forest’s Michail Antonio.
Sako scored 38 goals in 124 games during a three-year spell at Molineux following his move from St Etienne in 2012.
