Police Report: Johnny Manziel’s ex-girlfriend says he struck her
Johnny Manziel’s ex-girlfriend told police the Cleveland Browns quarterback hit her during an argument last weekend in Texas and said he appeared to be on drugs, according to a police report.
Johnny Manziel’s ex-girlfriend told Fort Worth police that he struck her, forced her into a auto and told her, “Shut up or I’ll kill us both”.
Despite the allegations, Manziel wasn’t charged by the Fort Worth or Dallas police departments, who said Thursday they consider their investigations closed.
Police say Crowley became increasingly uncooperative and didn’t want officers to photograph any of her injuries. Colleen was struck several times by Johnathan including a strike to her left ear which [REDACTED].
Several sections of the police report were redacted. The Fort Worth police concluded that the assaults occurred in another city’s jurisdiction, and an information only report was completed with no arrest to Manziel. Police were unable to locate Manziel after the incident.
In response, the Manziel denied the claims.
In wake of the alleged incident, Browns executive vice president of football operations Sashi Brown said Manziel’s conduct “undermines the hard work of his teammates” and his future with the team is under review. League spokesman Greg Aiello said Thursday the inquiry is “ongoing”.
Fort Worth police arrived about 2 a.m. Saturday after a neighbor at Crowley’s apartment complex called 911 to report a woman in distress.
There have been a flurry of Manziel sightings in the DFW area in the past couple of weeks, the most recent coming at the American Airlines Center on Wednesday when he attended a Dallas Mavericks’ game. She told police that Manziel was violent, banging her head into the car’s window.
The Browns came out with a strongly worded statement earlier this week that indicated the team will cut him. It said his status will be addressed when permitted by league rules.
