Women are sending Piers Morgan cleavage pics in support of Susan Sarandon
Some viewers believed this was inappropriate attire for the actress to wear, considering the sad theme of her presentation.
This back-and-forth prompted numerous Twitter users to come to come to Sarandon’s defense by sharing online snapshots of their own cleavage.
And then #CleavageGate erupted, in which a number of other women showed their support for Sarandon by tweeting pics of their own cleavage to her and/or Morgan and/or both. She said “Today’s #TBT (a reference to throwback Thursday) is dedicated to @piersmorgan“. “No. It was thus horribly inappropriate for an In Memoriam tribute”, Morgan had tweeted on Wednesday (February 3rd) about Sarandon’s outfit at the weekend, which featured a white blazer, black bra and no blouse. He claimed that he didn’t have a problem with her outfit, but he felt it was disrespectful to wear while introducing an in memoriam tribute.
Following the tweet exchange, the controversial columnist has revealed that his Twitter account has been inundated with pictures of women’s cleavages.
Morgan, meanwhile, just kept tweeting about why he was offended by her revealing outfit, and responding to accusations of sexism.
Morgan also tried to pick a Twitter fight with what he called “furious feminists” for their reactions to his initial comments.
“Oddest thing about #cleavagegate is the charge of “ageism”.
The journalist responded to the inundation of cleavage tweets directed at him later on Thursday afternoon, saying, “I’m under cleavage attack”.
