Popular Pellegrini begins long farewell at Manchester City
Pep Guardiola’s arrival to Manchester City at the end of the season to replace Manuel Pellegrini could mean marquee transfer signings of the best football players in the world.
Pep Guardiola will take over as manager of Manchester City on a three-year contract starting next season, with the English Premier League club finally capturing soccer’s most sought-after coach four years after failing in its first attempt.
City maintained their challenge for the Barclays Premier League title with a hard-fought 1-0 victory at Sunderland on Tuesday evening, and afterwards Hart signalled the squad’s intention to ensure Pellegrini goes out with a bang.
“That was why it was so important before we play against Leicester next week at home to win these points away and be involved in all the competitions. I love to talk about tactics – back three, back four and so on”.
Valenti also spoke about Guardiola’s spell in charge of Barcelona, stating that it was a surprise when he was appointed to the top job at his hometown club, saying “It was something that we never thought would have happened”.
“His man-management has been something that I personally have really enjoyed, so we are going to look to give him the best send-off, what he deserves”.
But Pellegrini, whose name was sung by the travelling fans, was at pains to point out that it had been a collective effort and that City’s players had shown they have steel to their game, as well as silk.
“We have however many games left and are in all competitions”.
“Next season will take care of itself”.
However, we very much doubt they’ll be looking to make SEVEN star signings – and crazily expensive ones, at that. Pellegrini may yet leave this summer as City’s most successful ever manager. “I can control both situations”.
Guardiola is expected to bring his coaching team from Barcelona and Bayern to Manchester when he eventually succeeds Manuel Pellegrini, with Manuel Estiarte, Domenec Torrent, Lorenzo Buenaventura and Carles Planchart all making the move.
This could be just the kind of manager Chelsea needs, someone who knows about the game, has been managing for a long time, is a stabilising figure and doesn’t pick up unnecessary fights with the media or other managers.
