Bernie Sanders to appear alongside Larry David on SNL
David is hosting the show and is expected to interview Sanders.
Sanders would be the third presidential candidate to be a guest on the show this season. “Larry’s so likable, you know, that it makes – you know, in a insane, curmudgeon way – that he makes Bernie… you’re like, ‘Oh yeah, Bernie Sanders“.
Speculation that Sanders would make a cameo on SNL has run rampant since NBC announced David, who’s impersonated the presidential hopeful several times this campaign season, would host.
The Sanders campaign told CNN they were headed to New York City this weekend “to be ready if SNL calls”. Sanders himself has responded with his own impression of David, so perhaps we’ll see the two men try on each other’s remarkably similar personas for a sketch.
Following this week’s Democratic debate and town hall where Sanders joked that he was in fact Larry David, the comedian was sure to portray the politician in at last one sketch.
This season, Donald Trump and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have both appeared alongside their doppelgangers on SNL.
David has satirized Sanders as a candidate screaming of revolution while Sanders has played along.
