Rubio Leads Trump, Cruz in Three-Way Race
A group of Indian-Americans supporting Donald Trump have made a decision to campaign and run advertisements in New Hampshire after the Republican presidential front-runner suffered a shock defeat in Iowa.
This latest poll was taken between Monday and Wednesday.
“These are dishonest people, these politicians”, Trump said, also attacking Cruz for a provocative mailer the senator’s campaign sent some voters in Iowa.
While the last-minute ramping up of the campaign schedule in New Hampshire doesn’t necessarily mean Trump is making substantive changes to the way he is running his campaign, it does at least suggest that he looking to step up his exposure here just days away from next Tuesday’s contest.
Trump’s choice to not talk about the other Republican candidates vying for the White House may reflect his sensitivities to the negative reactions to his claim that Ted Cruz did not win the Iowa caucuses, but rather “stole” them.
The poll found the most support for Rubio in a theoretical three-man race for the nomination, with 34% picking the Florida senator compared with 33% for Trump and 25% for Cruz. “Ted Cruz should be immediately disqualified in Iowa, with each candidate moving up one notch”, he later said.
“I do not know any progressive who has a super PAC and takes $15 million from Wall Street”, Sanders told the audience at the CNN-hosted event, following up on a day filled with back-and-forth sparring between the two campaigns on Twitter over who best represents the progressive wing of the party. Among Trump supporters, Cruz narrowly edged Rubio for support as the second choice at 23 percent to 22 percent, Selzer said. Cruz and Rubio are close behind with 21 percent each. Political scientists have long said the future course of the race will be much clearer when all the also-rans drop out and clear the way, and that’s now happening.
In 2012, former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum won the Iowa caucus by stressing social issues like abortion and same-sex marriage; former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney prevailed in New Hampshire with a more economic-oriented message.
After Rubio’s strong finish in Iowa, the Florida Republican earned a six-point boost in the survey, coming in second with 17 percent support. This is precisely what Cruz was getting at with his ” nuke Denmark” dig at Trump: The man is erratic and unstable. “His handlers handle him all the time”, Christie said on Fox News.
“I feel fine I mean, we have what we have”, he told reporters after greeting volunteers.
“We’ve been fighting the progressive fight and getting results for people for years”, Clinton said at rally in Derry. None of the remaining candidates received more than 5 percent of the vote.
New Hampshire is likely to winnow out at least three or four candidates.
