Conor McGregor speaks of UFC Hall of Fame in recent tweet
McGregor will bid to add the lightweight belt to his featherweight strap when he faces Dos Anjos in Las Vegas on March 5.
McGregor unleashed on the UFC’s art department for not recognising his own championship status heading into the bout.
UFC 196 is about to happen, and it will have Conor McGregor go up against Rafael Dos Anjos.
UFC Featherweight champion Conor McGregor has been vocal in the past about how the promotion for his fight against Lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 196 is a huge deal.
Well, the UFC boss man has done a 180.
Fans generally agree with McGregor’s complaint, saying that as a champion, McGregor should be given recognition as such, even if he will be fighting for another weight class. This has been the view on a number of fight forums like Sher Dog.
“This guys moving up to 155 to take on an animal“, White said. “How’s the heavyweight champion going to pull out with a sore toe?”
The heavyweight champion he’s talking about is Fabricio Werdum, who pulled out of his upcoming fight because of a “cracked” toe and a strained back, not a sore toe. What kind of champion is that? I need to feed every one you in the game so I’ve got to keep working because youse bums don’t work.
Dos Anjos is particularly daunting challenge though given that the Brazilian appears to have evolved into an absolute monster over the past few years who’s swatted aside a host of talented fighters like Donald Cerrone, Anthony Pettis, Ben Henderson and Nate Diaz with surprising ease on his route to the summit of the 155lb division.
He ended his speech with a simple request: “So thank you, and thank me”.
