Owl with an attitude wins face-off with Colorado deputy
Boulder County Sheriff”s Deputy Sophie Berman came across a wee owl in her patrols on Tuesday and got into a staring contest with the bird while filming it, the Associated Press reports”. The video, posted later to YouTube, racked up 140,000 views in 24 hours.
“Our deputies were driving when they were stopped in their tracks by this young Northern Saw Whet Owl”.
An adorable baby owl is making a hoot around the Internet. She kneeled to take a video of the bird and the diminutive owl merely clicked and stared wisely.
Audubon.org noted that the owl is usually silent but they communicate with each other through a monotonous series of tooting whistles, normally heard in late winter and spring.
“After some curious head twisting (on both sides) it safely flew away,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement on social media, using the Twitter hashtag #DeputiesLoveBabyOwls.
