Brett Favre elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame

His 18 consecutive seasons with 3,000 or more yards passing and 23 games with four or more touchdown passes were also National Football League bests when he retired. The best tackle of his generation joins a loaded 2016 Hall of Fame class that includes Brett Favre, Kevin Greene, Marvin Harrison, Ken Stabler, Dick Stanfel, Eddie DeBartolo, and Tony Dungy.
He also played the 2009 and 2010 seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, one of the Packers’ biggest rivals.
Favre was inducted into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame with much fanfare last summer. In fact, when you take away the Super Bowl teams and teams located in the Bay Area, the Packers are probably the most worn team right now in the Bay Area.
It was weird to see him in a Minnesota Vikings jersey at the end of his career but he had 44 touchdowns those two seasons.
Coryell coached the Chargers from 1978-86, guiding them to a 69-56 record, including three AFC West Division championships. Unfortunately not all of them will get in this year and some may never, although if they are a finalist, you have to figure their day is coming soon if not Saturday night.
Edward DeBartolo Jr., the lone contributor finalist, only received 45 percent positive votes for induction in our survey.

Dungy served as Vikings defensive coordinator from 1992-95 before becoming head coach for the Buccaneers (1996-2001) and Colts (2002-08). Harrison caught 1,102 passes for 14,580 yards and 128 touchdowns.
A Contributor Finalist announced in September was selected by the Hall of Fame’s Contributor Committee that considers persons who made outstanding contributions to professional football other than players and coaches. Faneca, with nine Pro Bowls and six first-team Associated Press All-Pro selections, is the next closest thing to a lock. Greene collected 160 sacks in his career, including 10 double-digit sack seasons.
