Hola: Texans-Raiders in Mexico City on Nov. 21

The NFL announced today that the Oakland Raiders will play the Houston Texans in Mexico City on November 21 of this year, and that it will considered a Raiders home game – possibly because the nation’s estimated 22 million NFL fans are enamored with the silver and black.

Goodell also pledged “to do everything possible” to help the Raiders and Chargers work to get new stadiums in their current markets. The 45 minutes carved out for the media (who, despite Goodell’s statement last year, don’t generally have access to the commissioner) included a question from a 12-year-old girl asking if she could play in the NFL.

Goodell said he had already recommended to the league’s competition committee that it consider the rule change. It confuses the game, and the fans, and I see absolutely no benefit to the players either.

A deal has also been agreed to play at least two games a year from 2018 to 2027 at Spurs’ new 62,000-seat stadium.

Mostly, the league has concentrated on games in London, and it has three scheduled for 2016.

The Rams will be playing in Los Angeles this upcoming season.

“I just don’t think it fits the Raiders”, Davis said of the Santa Clara stadium that is hosting Super Bowl 50 on Sunday.

Why Goodell even bothers meeting with the masses is beyond me, except that it gives the NFL Network programming on an otherwise quiet day at the Super Bowl. The league supports both of these teams, but we are working very hard with not only the teams but the communities to try to find a solution that works for everybody.

“Ultimately, the greatest way to get to know our game is to be in a stadium with 70-80 thousand fans”, Waller said.

“I thought both of them should have been ejected back then”, Giants owner John Mara said, “but maybe if we had this rule, it would make it a little bit more clearer”.

It marks only the NFL’s second regular-season game to be played in Mexico.

Goodell said the health of players was a top priority. “We have a tremendous, tremendous Hispanic fan base, and to be able to go see the Raider Nation in Mexico City is really an honor for us and we’re really excited about it. We’re looking at it as a home game”. “We want to work to try to keep our teams where they are”. I’m not surprised based on the past three years. On top of this game, Goodell believes there will be more games played overseas in the future.

“At designated games, selected at random, the game balls used in the first half will be collected by the [kicking ball coordinator] at halftime, and the League’s Security Representative will escort the KBC with the footballs to the Officials’ Locker room”, the item from the league states.

“You don’t want to see somebody get carried away, where something bad happens on the football field, where now all of a sudden you are going from one thing to another and it leads to a bad set of circumstances and somebody gets hurt”, Panthers coach Ron Rivera said. Goodell held his annual state of the National Football League address Friday and, apparently, everything is hunky dory.

“The Raiders are truly a global brand”, owner Mark Davis said.
