Street Fighter V servers not working, Capcom to extend beta
Capcom has announced today that the ongoing beta testing for the game has been postponed due to the severe strain being put on the title’s servers. While the game didn’t release yet, in fact we are a long way from that, I got the opportunity to give a shot to the first beta and here are some of my impressions.
Stay tuned for new beta dates. Yet with the first beta experience that is supposedly exclusive to PS4 players, fans are already seeing some issues with the beta run. There are some players who were able to break through the buggy servers to land themselves into some decent gameplay experience.
Beta testing is supposed to end on Tuesday, but Capcom has promised to extend beta for a yet unspecified period of time. Capcom limited access and was able to get some North American players online over the weekend but the experience was marred by issues, and European gamers didn’t even get a look in. The whole team here is very disappointed that we were unable to deliver a proper beta experience this time. They did a great job with this particular beta version, considering the current state of the game, but they have to enhance the graphics, bring in more attacks and maps, then they have a victor on their side.
As far as the extended beta is concerned, there are no confirmations yet as to the length of extension players will get for the “Street Fighter V” beta, GameSpot reported.
“To all of the players that participated and supported us through this initial phase, we can not thank you enough”.
Additionally, we are working on a worthwhile in-game incentive for the players that participated in the first beta test. While we can’t confirm specifics just yet, we will have more details on this in the coming weeks.
The publisher also detailed its DLC plans, which should please Street Fighter fans. Capcom made a Twitter announcement on early morning Monday that Street Fighter V will continue to be down on Monday as its engineers continue to work on optimizing the servers to allow everybody to play.
