Celine Dion Give Emotional Speech About Late Husband

Dion has overseen all the details for the event for her late husband, who died on January 14 after a long battle with throat cancer.

“I was never part of any of the meetings that he had where he had to say yes or no. He protected me from Day 1 to for the rest of my life, I am pretty sure of that”, she explained, her emotions running high.

At the end of her speech, Dion became very emotional and let the tears flow down her face.

Dion herself didn’t do any of her songs during the heartfelt memorial service, but in the background there was a display shown of her discography, as well as an instrumental music version of one of her hits, “Because You Loved Me”, which played as an interlude during the Las Vegas tribute to her husband.

“I feel his love in this room”, she told the crowd.

“On behalf of my family, thank you again for being here for this lovely tribute of Monday amour, René, I love you, so much”.

Angelil served as Dion’s manager for over a decade before marrying her in 1994.

Dion was joined on stage by her 15-year-old son, René-Charles, and her step-children. Dion claimed her husband of 21 years was coming through to her via the audience members, stating that she could feel the love he had for her shining through each of them.

Celine cancelled all Las Vegas performances until February 23 following her husband’s death, and the death of her brother Daniel just two days later.

Angelil’s funeral took place on January 22nd but this is the first time Dion has publicly opened up about her loss; that’s apart from the open letter she unveiled on Friday, thanking her fans for their kindness.
