New England digs out from first big snowfall of season
On Friday, the area was buried in almost a foot of wet, heavy snow that caused power outages to thousands of residents and forced both school districts to use their first snow day of the season.

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority said it closed a portion of a trolley line between Boston and suburban Newton when a tree fell across the tracks and bussed passengers Friday afternoon.
“It’s lovely”, said Raul Rodriguez, who works in the CT attorney general’s office.
Not everyone was chipper about winter’s belated blast. “We deserve it. We’ve had several brutal years of snowstorms”.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch from Monday morning through Tuesday morning for the eastern half of MA including Cape Cod and the Islands and Plymouth and Bristol Counties.
More snow is headed to CT and to help drivers prepare for slippery conditions during their Monday morning commute, Eyewitness News has declared it an Early Warning Weather Day.
Three to five inches of snow is expected, compounded by winds from the northeast of 10 to 15 miles per hour.
The Twin Cities is under a winter weather advisory.
