Carolina Panthers, Denver Broncos to meet in Super Bowl 50

After a weekend off to heal up and accommodate the Pro Bowl, Carolina and Denver will square off in a Super Bowl matchup featuring two elite quarterbacks at very different points in their careers, two excellent defenses, and two physical running games.

Is it really any wonder Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton has led his team to Super Bowl 50?

Denver is at 14-2 against Carolina’s 15-1. Super Bowl 50 fans should be in for a great game come February 7th when they kick-off between these two powerhouse teams.

After Newton connected with Corey Brown on an 86-yard touchdown, the longest pass play in Carolina playoff history, the Panthers owned a 17-0 lead late in the first quarter.

The Broncos were impressive in Sunday’s game against the defending champions, making Tom Brady look pedestrian on their way to a second Super Bowl appearance in three years.

The Panthers have one of the best defensive lines in football, and they’ve put plenty of pressure on opposing quarterbacks this postseason with eight sacks. Six of the turnovers were made by Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer, who threw four interceptions and lost two fumbles. This is a league dominated by the quarterback position, and if you dont have one, you dont stand much of a chance.

Current Bears coach John Fox preceded both Gary Kubiak in Denver and Ron Rivera in Charlotte as the head coach of the Broncos and Panthers, respectively.

David Rush and Darren Fells scored touchdowns for the Cardinals but they came up against a mean Panthers defence, who kept dangerman Larry Fitzgerald quiet.

The Panthers forced seven turnovers against the Cardinals.

When asked if Newton is a unique player to face, Talib added: “Man, super unique”. Should I change this?’ I told our coordinators this morning: We’re going to do what we do, we’re going to stick to what got us to where we are today.

The AFC participant is the home team in the Super Bowls that take place in even-numbered years.

Super Bowl 50 will be the Bronco’s 8th time, which ties a record, and will be the 2nd time for the Panthers.
