Beyonce announces 2016 Formation World Tour
Beyoncé and Bruno Mars put on one hell of a halftime show this year during Super Bowl 50.
While Coldplay was nominally the headliner at the American football championship game, it was Beyonce who made news – moments after the show finished, a brief television advertisement announced that she will head on a world tour.
After a dance battle between Beyonce and Mars, the pair were joined by Martin for a final chorus of Uptown Funk before Coldplay re-claimed the stage to perform Fix You.
Beyonce just stole the show, one side she looks outstanding and sizzling sexy supercharged with a break dance, as Coldplay started the halftime show with upbeat versions of Viva La Vida and Paradise Chris Martin stole the spotlight on a colourful circular stage.
Leading a hot troupe of dancers, Beyonce stepped out in a Michael Jackson-inspired costume, rocking a black leotard with a black leather military-style jacket with gold embellishments.
The Formation tour will see the singer play 40 shows split between North America, Canada, the USA and the United Kingdom from April 27; the United Kingdom leg will commence at Wembley Stadium from mid-June, continuing well into July.
Queen Bey surprised fans by dropping her new song just a day before the Super Bowl, and the accompanying video got everyone talking.
Once the performance was over, the audience held up signs to spell out the words “Believe in Love” and it was lovely!
After Beyonce’s performance with Coldplay and other special guest Bruno Mars, a commercial promoting the unannounced The Formation World Tour aired, much to the delight of fans who crashed her website immediately after the ad ended.
Her make-up also matched the colour theme, with glittery red eye shadow and blue nail polish.
Lady Gaga has increasingly moved away from her over-the-top performances and distinguished herself by singing pop classics in a duet with 89-year-old Tony Bennett.
