Clippers’ All-Star Blake Griffin breaks hand in punch-up with team’s staff member
Testi was left with visible injuries to his face while Griffin suffered a “spiral fracture of the fourth metacarpal in his right hand”, according to the Clippers.
ESPN is reporting Griffin threw a punch at a member of the Clippers equipment staff at a restaurant in Toronto. That team incident has come out to be that Griffin got into an altercation with an equipment manager.
Blake Griffin was already dealing with an injured quadriceps at the time of the incident, so this is a double-blow for him.
Blake Griffin is expected to miss several weeks with a broken hand.
Griffin received X-rays on January 25 in Los Angeles that revealed the injury, the team said.
The incident occurred between the power forward and the Clippers’ assistant equipment manager, Matias Testi – who also has a personal relationship with the National Basketball Association player.
First reported by ESPN’s Marc Stein and Ramona Shelburne, Griffin hit a Clippers staff member after dinner during their road trip in Toronto.
Both Testi and Griffin were sent home but hopefully not on the same flight. 26, 2016, that the team would be releasing a statement about the incident and that it would be addressed more fully before the Clippers’ evening game in Indianapolis. Griffin took to Twitter, posting a picture of a long paragraph explaining Griffin regretting his actions and apologizing to fans and the team for creating a distraction.

Griffin’s hand injury is expected to keep him out “a matter of weeks, as opposed to days”. The Clippers have won 11 games and have only lost three while Griffin has been out.
