Florida dad killed in front of family after road rage fight
Both men called 911 after what police termed “an aggressive driving incident”, but it was Doyle who is heard on the recordings to say that he had his gun out, and the weapon was “cocked and loaded”. Doyle approached his auto while armed with a handgun and Gonzalez got out. The Florida man said he was just 20 seconds from his house, but feared the other driver was following him.
When Gonzalez got out of his vehicle, Doyle’s wife took the phone and told the dispatcher Doyle fired multiple times. Meanwhile, the family of Candelario Gonzalez has planned his funeral for Friday at 11 a.m.
Doyle told police the whole thing started when Gonzalez tried to force him off the road and was brake checking him.
Police in Citrus County say a dispute that began as a road rage incident led to the death of one man and another facing second-degree murder and other charges.
“My gun is already out”. The dispatcher on the line with the Gonzalez’s told the family to go home, but they insisted on stopping at the house to get Doyle’s address. In a panicked voice, Cathy Gonzalez is heard telling the dispatcher that Doyle has a gun. Citrus Sheriff’s Captain David DeCarlo said this is not being considered a Stand Your Ground case.
Gonzalez’s wife said, “He just shot my husband!”

Gonzalez got out of the truck.
Doyle then forced Cathy Gonzalez out of the auto as Candelerio Gonzalez lay dying nearby.
“Please help me!” screamed Cathy into her phone. He said Gonzalez followed him home and “threatened to kick his ass” which is when Doyle pulled out his gun, put a round in the chamber and pointed it at him.
Doyle was charged with second-degree murder and three counts of aggravated assault, while Gonzalez’s family is preparing for his funeral set for Friday at 11 a.m. Doyle was released on a $60,000 bond, according to CNN.
