Starbucks Serves Trio of Molten Chocolate Specials

Only have eyes for coffee (and chocolate) this Valentine’s Day?

Starbucks is helping customers celebrate Valentine’s Day with three new chocolate treats. This has a slightly bitter taste for hot chocolate, and has a richer flavor than the other two drinks.

Beginning today, participating stores will offer a trio of Starbucks Molten Chocolate beverages through February 14.

The flavor is available in three varieties: a latte, a frappuccino, and a hot chocolate. The Molten Chocolate Latte is especially wonderful, because it’s basically chocolate lava cake in liquid form.

Somehow, it’s neither too sweet nor too intensely chocolatey, perhaps owing to the combo of chocolate chips that are infused into espresso, and the bittersweet mocha sauce that’s added at the same time as the steamed milk. And if you’re feeling like this isn’t what your cold, dead heart needs, this drink is available in both hot and iced. And to ensure that even those of us who aren’t sure we’re ready for all the V-day sweetness don’t feel left out, Starbucks has made these with a semi-sweet chocolate and a bittersweet mocha syrup. It comes topped with a mocha drizzle and espresso-infused whipped cream; the espresso in the whip is thankfully decaf, as the drink packs quite a buzz.

Because a heart-shaped box of chocolates is simply not enough.

They feature chocolate chips melted into steamed milk (or blended with the Frapp) and a specialbittersweet mocha sauce.
