Marotta confident Allegri will not leave Juventus for Chelsea
Chelsea are reportedly interested in appointing Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri as their new manager following the conclusion of the current season.
Manchester City recently confirmed Pep Guardiola will manage their dugout after the Spaniard concludes his duties with Bayern Munich, which thus propels Manuel Pellegrini into the market.
Allegri is hugely regarded as one of the best coaches in history and boasts an impressive managerial record.
Allegri’s assistant Marco Landucci, fitness coach Simone Folletti and physio Stefano Grani have all agreed to join Chelsea according to the report from Calciomercato and will begin their Chelsea adventure along with the Italian this summer.
He told Mediaset: “We’re speaking to Allegri every day at this crucial stage of the season”.
Massimiliano Allegri is hot property, and why wouldn’t he be considering his Juventus side nearly won the European Cup previous year, as they continue to dominate Serie A. “For the future, we do not talk about anything”.
And Marotta, who insisted that Juventus’ hierarchy are in regular contact with Allegri, has urged the 48-year-old to extend his stay at the club beyond this season.
“With Allegri, the conditions are all there to continue”. Results are what count and Allegri has delivered plenty of those. “The team is doing well and are continuously improving”. I have a contract until 2017 and we are working well.
Marotta, helpfully, has endorsed another candidate instead for the Chelsea job, Antonio Conte, whose contract with Italy is now set to expire after Euro 2016.
