CBS’ Super Bowl cameras serve up visual feast
Beyonce is no stranger to political activism.
For an uplifting finale, Beyonce and Mars rejoined Martin, Coldplay and a crowd full of children on stage for a group rendition of Coldplay’s “Up & Up”.
There’s a young boy who dances in front of cops in riot gear, reminiscent of images from recent protests over officer-involved shootings of young black men.
But, partnered with Mars on the football field, the tone of the performance was lighter than the video.
Washington D.C., February 8: Beyonce just gave a special treat to her fans as she recently announced a new world tour.
Cedric Betts of Millbrae, California, who saw the performance live at the game, said Beyonce’s message was clear.
The top tweeted halftime songs were: Formation, Uptown Funk, Paradise and Viva La Vida.
How will it match up to the stunning custom-made leather and lace costume she wore for her last Super Bowl appearance back in 2013 and will she go with designer Rubin Singer once again?
Beyoncé went from halftime co-star to stealing the entire halftime show.
Beyonce felt “proud” of her Super Bowl performance. But the social media hate they received for their troubles was nauseatingly predictable, and says more about their detractors than it does the band. Coldplay followed with 774,000 tweets, while Mars garnered 341,000 tweets.
The Formation World Tour will make a stop at NRG Stadium, home to the Houston Texans and next year’s Super Bowl, on May 7 and AT&T Stadium, home to the Dallas Cowboys, in Arlington on May 8.
