Clinton making a personal pitch to New Hampshire voters
Neal, who canvassed for Clinton in Keene earlier this year, said it’s important to knock on doors in narrow races, like the one between the former first lady and U.S. Sen. There, she debuted a thoroughly revamped stump speech after her razor-thin Iowa win that strikes a more populist tone.
Clinton said she was making a “personal commitment” to help Flint in a message delivered not only to the congregants at a local Baptist church but also a more heavily-minority electorate in Southern contests that could help her build a foundation for a delegate-by-delegate drive toward the nomination. Another wrote: “Hillary without her makeup would be frightening”. She brought the issue up during the Democratic debate and has given multiple interviews on the subject.
Hundreds crowded into a function room to hear the candidate, former President Bill C/linton and their daughter, Chelsea Clinton.
“I’m constantly trying to balance how do I assume the mantle of a position as essentially august as president of the United States, not lose track of who I am, what I believe in and what I want to do to serve?” she said.
New Hampshire allows Independent voters to participate in either the Democratic or Republican Primary but don’t expect this election to be anything like what happened last week in Iowa. Although Clinton has been able to significantly close that gap, according to The Wall Street Journal, a gap which was more than 20 points in January, it has become increasingly clear that she has grown frustrated by her campaign’s inability to present a coherent and positive view of her candidacy.
Clinton arguably boasts experience in government unparalleled by anyone in the presidential field – but that has also made her a high-profile target for attack.
“A lot of people think you know that’s ultimately her decision”, said Sanders.
“He has tapped into something that is fundamentally wrong and concerning about this country, and that is why so many people are feeling the fervor, are embracing the movement and understand that it’s time to take the country back”, Patrick Manion said.
“There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help each other”, the first woman to be America’s top diplomat proclaimed to applause.
From the pulpit, Clinton urged Congress to provide $200 million to fix Flint’s water system, saying it was “no time for politics as usual”. I can’t say I trust nothing.
The former president went on, “When you’re making a revolution, you can’t be too careful about the facts”, drawing laughs.
Phone bank volunteers called voters, while others walked door-to-door. She has since said her vote was a mistake, and her decision was influenced by bogus intelligence spread by the Bush administration. He told the story of a female “progressive” blogger who defended Mrs. Clinton online through a pseudonym because, he said, the vitriol from Mr. Sanders’s backers was so unrelenting. “It’s a trust factor”.
Another younger woman tells me: “I’m driving down the road, I see Bernie signs everywhere”. It’s a grass-roots movement. “Hope is a feeling that whatever you wanted or desired, you can have”.
