Michigan State reportedly pulls scholarship from commit who visited Ohio State
Rivals.com and other sites reported that MSU offered Arcuri shortly after pulling Cupp’s offer, and that Arcuri was expected to visit East Lansing today. Despite it’s location near the Indiana border, Leipsic is like most small Ohio towns, where Ohio State football is a way of life.
Just days after Michigan State backed away from offensive line commit Gavin Cupp, the Spartans landed a commitment from another Ohio offensive lineman. As stated by Scout, Cupp had his scholarship offer pulled off the table over the weekend after he attended Ohio State’s Friday Night Lights event in Columbus.
Michigan State needs a replacement for Cupp, so Dantonio recently offered a scholarship to three-star Ohio prospect A.J. Cupp, regardless of whatever and wherever his future holds, learned that lesson first-hand. Cupp, nevertheless, has been a daily customer in Columbus and informed cleveland.com up to now that he would like to earn a Buckeyes supply.
Although this looming commitment may have come from some unfortunate circumstances with Cupp, a commitment from a guy who MSU coaches really liked after he camped at Michigan State earlier in June would be a huge addition.
The 6-foot, 6-inch, 275-pound senior said he had offers from Minnesota, Missouri, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Virginia, Illinois and several other schools at the time he committed to Michigan State.
