Take the Plunge to Support Special Olympics
As Special Olympics Indiana’s signature fundraising event, the Polar Plunge invites Hoosiers to be “Freezin’ for a Reason” by raising funds for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
Registration will begin at 10:45 a.m. and the plunge will happen at noon.
Members of Craighead EC’s Chillywatts Polar Bear Plunge team raised $21,000 for Special Olympics this year.
Weather forecasters say it will be in the 40s when this year’s Polar Plunge participants dive into icy water to benefit the Special Olympics.
Prizes are available for the team or individual that has the highest donation total and incentives are available from Special Olympics.
The 25th Special Olympics Delaware Lewes Polar Bear Plunge Sunday is expected to draw well over three-thousand people, whose willingness to jump into the ocean all at once will raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for the organization. The After Splash Bash invites plungers to warm up immediately after in the Crossroads Community Church Hall.

The courageous, the creatively costumed, and those with a heart for giving are invited to participate in the 18th annual Polar Plunge Feb. 18 at Appalachian State University’s duck pond.
