Tom Cruise battles Jimmy Fallon in lip synch battle
While promoting his upcoming movie, “Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation”, in theatres Friday, Cruise stopped by “The Tonight Show” to face off against host Jimmy Fallon in two intense rounds of lip-synching. After watching Cruise’s impressive performance, Fallon said, “Why am I even trying…”
The Roots teased the action star with the opening chords of Bob Seger’s “Old Time Rock and Roll”, the song Cruise famously danced to in his underwear in 1983’s Risky Business. “This is going to be hard to beat”.
Cruise and Fallon absolutely mortified a young lady in the front row as they serenaded her. The “Mission: Impossible” star held her hand while Fallon messed up her hair has he failed miserably to caress her face.
Next, Fallon fake sang The Rolling Stones’ “Undercover Of The Night”, while mimicking Mick Jagger’s signature dance moves.
Fallon is known for having a lot of fun with the guests on the show, and Cruise is known for a few famous wacky chat show appearances, so this was a match made in heaven.
Tom Cruise didn’t disappoint as he challenged Jimmy Fallon to an unforgettable “Lip Sync Battle”.
But in a throwback to his fighter pilot days as Maverick in Top Gun, Cruise picked out his Charlotte “Charlie” Blackwood – an embarrassed member of the audience – as he joined Fallon for a duet of The Righteous Brothers’ You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling.
