Beyoncé sends Red Lobster’s sales soaring 33%
Sales at Red Lobster spiked over the weekend following the release of Queen Bey’s surprise new single “Formation” in which the seafood restaurant was given a shout-out in a song widely described as a political anthem for African-Americans.
She also gives the infamous shout out to Red Lobster in her lyrics “when he f*** me good I take his a** to Red Lobster, cause I slay”.
Cheddar Bay Biscuits are now Cheddar “Bey” Biscuits and their Bay Breeze drinks are “Bey” Breezes. Google searches for the brand also spiked, according to the company.
“We’re calling it the Beyoncé bounce”, Red Lobster spokeswoman Erica Ettori told Business Insider. Another said: “You missed such an opportunity here, @redlobster”.
Red Lobster have since tried to defend their lame tweet, first posting: ‘You try to bake Cheddar Bay Biscuits and tweet at the same time!
“Yall had hours and this is what yall come up with?” one user responded.
Beyonce announced her Formation world tour on Sunday, with the official general sale of tickets on Tuesday February 16.
Fans were quick to comment on Red Lobster’s tardy response with a few quips of their own.
