Donald Trump Admits Skipping Debate May Have Cost Him In Iowa
She predicted that Trump would step up sharp attacks on Cruz and Rubio, the telegenic young senator, as the New Hampshire primary nears.
After he lost the Iowa caucuses to Ted Cruz, Donald Trump was uncharacteristically gracious, spinning and staying positive like an ordinary political candidate.
But Carson said there should be consequences, and that voters should look at what the candidates do, and not just what they say.
The network said it had only reported that Carson would go to Florida instead of New Hampshire or SC immediately after the caucuses to take a “deep breath” and get clean clothes.
Trump garners 29 percent support in a CNN/WMUR/UNH poll also released with Rubio gaining 7 percentage points since the caucuses to hit 18 percent.
Needless to say, holding the Iowa caucuses for a second time seems rather unlikely, but these latest broadsides should only intensify the increasingly contentious battle between Trump and Cruz. Marco Rubio won the news cycle as the rising star – despite finishing third.
Meanwhile, Ben Carson and Donald Trump are lashing out at Sen. Ted Cruz and Florida Sen. “His reaction was to get very angry”, the presidential contender said during a town hall in New Hampshire on Thursday”.
Democratic presidential candidates are fighting over who’s the true liberal candidate, as Republican candidates bicker over tactics used by the Cruz camp in Iowa.
Trump isn’t in New Hampshire at all Wednesday.
For the Democrats, Hillary Clinton was seeking to turn a narrow victory in Iowa over Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders into some momentum.
“Ted Cruz didn’t win Iowa, he stole it”, he wrote to his six million followers on Twitter.
The Cruz campaign also took heat for campaign literature it sent out to potential voters before caucus night that seemingly accused them of voting violations over low voter turnout – and urged them to caucus Monday to improve their “score”.
Trump’s Twitter rant was a far cry from his concession speech on Monday evening, when he said he loved Iowa even though he landed in second.
