Cam Newton defends actions after Super Bowl
Cam Newton wasn’t apologizing Tuesday for walking out on reporters after the Carolina Panthers’ loss in the Super Bowl 50. “I mean that”, Newton said. “We got a lot of great players”, said fan Marcus Gladden. Okay, you say my effort. I’ve said it since Day One: I am who I am. “We’ll let Peyton enjoy this”, Broncos general manager John Elway said. I don’t know what you want me to say. “I think that is what happens”.
One stop was The Ellen DeGeneres Show, where he explained why it’s his job to make Cam Newton’s life miserable and why, at one point during the game, he even asked Newton and the Panthers why they were so heated.
“That’s who he is”.
“He hates to lose, that’s the bottom line”, Rivera says.
Some in the media also criticized Newton for not diving for a fumble late in the game. “We know who Cam is, we understand who the young man is and who he wants to be for us”. After losing the biggest game of his career, he remained that way – and took a heap of criticism. I didn’t want to talk to the media at the time and the truth of the matter is, I really still don’t want to you. “No. 1 in my opinion, over (the) ’85 Bears”, linebacker Danny Trevathan, who recovered two fumbles in the Super Bowl, told NFL.com.
He said plenty of quarterback’s throw picks and don’t try to make the tackle and don’t get ripped for it.
The Carolina quarterback was an easy target after he’d already garnered a lot of backlash throughout the season for his touchdown celebrations.
“I’m very much at peace right now and I think, however it works out, it’ll work out the way it’s supposed to”, the Denver Broncos quarterback said today on “Good Morning America”. Quite honestly if he is going to take it hard, as a public service, we should avoid having him talk right away.
Linebacker Brandon Marshall thinks Denver’s top-ranked unit in 2015 just might be the best of all time.
The normally upbeat Newton was in a sullen mood afterwards as he uttered short answers to the press with a team hoodie pulled up over his head.
