Apple Music goes live on Sonos, finally
Of course, you’ll also need a valid Apple Music membership, and at least one Sonos speaker (obviously).
That includes the For You, New, Radio (including Beats 1) and My Music sections.
Sonos today announced that Apple Music will be officially available on Sonos wireless speakers starting tomorrow, ending a two month beta testing period.
The reason why it’s taken so long for the two systems to come together is because Sonos has been running a comprehensive beta program to ensure everything worked perfectly.
A public beta of Apple Music on Sonos systems launched last December.
According to Apple’s SVP of Internet Software and Services, Eddy Cue, “The feedback from Apple Music members on Sonos during the beta period has been great”.
Simply select “Add Music Services” on any Sonos controller app, scroll down to Apple’s icon, and log in.
Yesterday, speaker company Sonos released the results of a 30,000 person study they conducted that delved into the ways playing music builds familial relationships.
It’s a great partnership for Apple Music, the streaming service Cupertino launched a year ago to mixed reviews.
This is the news Apple Music subscribers and Sonos speaker owners may have been waiting for for months now.
“Working with Apple gives us the opportunity to share Apple Music throughout people’s homes in a way that’s easy, intuitive, and sounds great”.
Some of you might be thinking, “Hang on, we’ve had Apple Music for a couple of months”.
