Snow showers possible tonight, then a chilly, windy day tomorrow
Our atmosphere has a lot of instability today, so similar to summertime thunderstorms, any snow showers that develop today could get a little “feisty” so to speak. Early computer guidance looks like an inch of snow will be common to many areas.
Columbus saw scattered reports of snow flurries on Tuesday even with temperatures around 40 degrees, and all melted on contact with the ground. The wind is going to kick up too. This will mean lows in the single digits and highs only in the teens on Saturday.
Snow showers and squalls continue to push across the region today and should continue through Wednesday. The bitter cold doesn’t stick around for long, but nonetheless, it’s going to be a shock to the system! Wind chills are in the 20s, so dress warmly!
A winter weather advisory is now in effect for Cumberland, Dauphin, Lebanon, Perry, Juniata, Franklin, Blair, Huntingdon, Mifflin, Bedford and Fulton counties, where 3-6 inches of snow could fall Tuesday.
On Friday, arctic cold air will move in, lasting through the weekend. Lows in the upper 20s.
Thursday Night: Partly cloudy. Wind chill values as low as zero. The strong, cold northwest wind will keep wind chill temps in the single digits. It’ll be uncomfortably cold for date night Saturday night.
Wednesday will still feature some snow showers, but they’ll be coming from the Great Lakes. More sunshine works in for Sunday.
