Woman’s body found in Louth house
The crash happened before the body of a woman was discovered at a house near Hackballscross shortly before 4pm.
It was found at a property located in the Rathmore area of Hackballscross at around 3.45pm this evening.
Gardaí are said to be investigating the circumstances leading up to the woman’s death and whether it is connected to a fatal crash on the M1 outside Ardee earlier this afternoon.
In that incident, one man died after his auto collided with a truck and another vehicle on the northbound side of the Dublin-Belfast motorway at about 2pm.
The house was sealed off for a forensic examination.
The driver and two passengers in the other auto were taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda with what is described as non-life threatening injuries.
Following the crash, a northbound section of the main Dublin to Belfast motorway has been closed to traffic between junctions 13 and 16.

Sinn Féin leader Gerry Adams, who represents the Louth constituency expressed his condolences. “My thoughts are with all those affected at this sad time”.
