Rumour: Titanfall 2 to launch this year
As spotted by Polygon, McFarlane Toys are going to be making Titanfall toys that are set to come ‘Winter 2016.’ It was also suggested these would be launching alongside the game.
Todd McFarlane, the chief executive officer of the company, adds, “This is a flawless fit”. Other than a couple of brief descriptions and the release window for the action figure line, details relating to Titanfall 2 and its estimated release window were not revealed.
No date is given in the press release, but the product page on the McFarlane website is pretty clear with its “winter 2016” release timing. Indicating that the Titanfall 2 game “might” now be launching during the winter of 2016 in preparation for the holiday season, although this has not been confirmed by EA. More interesting is that the announcement mentions the toys “will be released in conjunction with the highly anticipated launch of Titanfall 2”.
The core elements of Titanfall 2 will still involve nimble pilots and powerful mechs, but there are new ways to explore the deeper themes associated with the franchise.
We have contacted Electronic Arts for some additional information on this new release window, but so far haven’t received any word from them.
Titanfall 2 is expected to be bigger than the original promising to include a proper single player story campaign. The figures will be a part of McFarlane’s Collector Box Program and will each be 7 inches high with 15 points of articulation.
