CDC to host Zika conference call with hospital workers

A World Health Organization (WHO) representative in China tells Reuters that the organization does expect Zika cases to arrive in China, however, because of “the volume of travel between China and South America”.

“Yolo County residents traveling to Central or South America or the Caribbean, where Zika is present, should take precautions against mosquitoes”, said Yolo County Health Officer Ron Chapman, MD, MPH.

Pregnant women who are now residing, traveling or have recently traveled to any of the Zika identified “hot spots” are particularly at risk for infection from the virus.

The two new cases are part of a batch of six people who travelled to regions afflicted with the virus, returned to Bexar County and were then tested.
