J.K. Rowling Clarifies Rumors About ‘Harry Potter & the Cursed Child’
There’s a new Harry Potter book coming this summer.
Rowling originally planned on “Cursed Child” being a play instead of a book.
It’s been nine years since Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was published, crushing fans’ hearts as the final instalment of a truly monumental, pop culture-changing series.
Published by Little, Brown Book Group, the script eBook will be available simultaneously with the print editions by Pottermore, in collaboration with Little, Brown Book Group in the U.K, and Scholastic in the United States and Canada. No specifics on the Collector’s Edition were provided, with details to come at some point in the future.
If you’ve not been following the world of Magic and muggles, here’s news – Harry Potter author JK Rowling hasn’t ended the franchise just yet. The story being told in the play hasn’t (yet) been adapted into an official novelization; this book will instead include the rehearsal script used for the preview performances of the play.
Harry Potter fans went into panic mode when rumours about a new book surfaced earlier this week.
The news will be a relief for fans who are waiting to join in the new wizarding adventure of Harry, Ron and Hermione.

On Tuesday, April 5, Universal Studios Hollywood will host a red carpet event for the eagerly-awaited arrival of “The Wizarding World of Harry Potterâ„¢”.
Jamie Parker, who originated the role of Scripps in The History Boys, has been cast as Harry. The story resumes, in the context of where the last book left off, 19 years later.
The printed script for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will be released this year on July 31 (which is also Harry Potter’s birthday). The play will run into 2017, the 20th anniversary of the United Kingdom publication of Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone.
