Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho’s move to Manchester United a ‘done deal’
Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has told close friends that he will take over as Manchester United manager this summer, according to British tabloids.
The likelihood is that Van Gaal will leave Old Trafford at the end of the season, one year before his contract expires.
Mourinho has been out of work since being sacked by Chelsea in December, and is understood to be keen on the United job.
But, other reports have strongly linked Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino – best-priced 10/1 with Sky Bet – with the Red Devils hotseat.
Ed Woodward, United’s executive vice-chairman, will address investors and market analysts when he presents United’s first-quarter earnings for 2016.
Premier League champions Chelsea and Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
If true, the move would come as little surprise to anyone given the former Inter Milan manager’s preference to continue coaching in England, as also United’s need to go toe to toe with Manchester City, who announced the appointment of Pep Guardiola earlier this month. “He left the pitch on a stretcher screaming in pain and I hope it’s not a very serious injury and he can be back on the pitch as soon as possible”.
Since four English teams qualified for the Champions League, there have been only five occasions when a team have broken into those places after 25 matches, and only one that is comparable to the task that faces Manchester United now. Within the space of four days they have snowballed from reports that Mourinho’s representatives met with United to multiple claims the deal is done, and now Di Marzio has thrown his hat into the mix.
So why are you inventing stories he quizzed. “If I knew the answer to that question, I would be the CEO”.
He said: “Too much time with Jose and I get this nasty rash. Maybe you can look at the statistics”. “From the first minute I got on the ball and tried to make things happen and, luckily, I got the goal”.
The United manager has deemed the media nearly as hostile enemy combatants, given the ongoing questioning of his tactics, his style of play and ongoing concerns over his future at Old Trafford. We looked risky going forward and defended well for most of the game.
