TEMECULA: Rep. Hunter gets mixed reviews for vaping during hearing
Hunter is a former Marine whose district includes a large swath of Southern California east of San Diego.
Everyone hates vaping, and they hate it for no good reason.
Mid-vape, the congressman released both a lung full of e-cigarette residue and an assertion that such a move was unfair to ex-smokers who rely on the gadgets to get their nicotine fix.
He goes on to say that vaporizer devices eventually will be used to deliver other types of drugs, such as Prozac and “anything else you could need”.
‘This has helped thousands of people quit smoking, it has helped me quit smoking’. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is considering regulations on e-cigarettes. Now that I vape, does it mean I am one step closer to dying than say, someone who might drink too much, eat too much red meat or live an all-around unhealthy lifestyle? It’s not something I want to be inhaling.
After House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi celebrated killing a rider in the Omnibus bill that would’ve saved 99 percent of e-cigarette products from prohibition, Hunter wrote to the house minority leader warning her that Democrats are only helping tobacco companies with the party’s opposition to vaping.
‘Ironically, by not supporting the commercial availability of e-cigarettes, with all their advancements in recent years, you are giving support – whether intended or not – to traditional cigarettes and other products, ‘ he wrote in a letter posted by The Hill.
Rep. Duncan Hunter is seen using a vaporizer during a congressional hearing on February 11, 2016, while arguing in favor of the use of the device on planes. “Do you think we’re really going to go there?”
“This is the future”, Hunter told the assembled group of lawmakers, encouraging them to vote against the amendment “for freedom’s sake”.
