‘Empire’ Costars Grace Gealey and Trai Byers Are Engaged

On Monday, it was revealed that Empire co-stars Grace Gealey and Trai Byers are in fact engaged.

Gealey plays Terrence Howard’s ex-fiancée on the hit hip-hop drama, while Byers portrays the actor’s onscreen son, Andre Lyon, and the two sparked rumours of a romance after attending the wedding of actor Cedric Sanders together.

Byers, 33, is said to have popped the question to his girlfriend at her 31st birthday on Sunday, according to Us Weekly.

The duo celebrated their engagement as well as Miz Gealey’s 31st birthday with their fellow castmates.

Although Gealy has yet to post a photo of the ring, she did share a collage of photos from the night thanking everyone for an lovely evening. Interestingly enough, Byers recently told Essence that he’d choose Gealey’s character Anika over Taraji P Henson’s Cookie on the show.
