Need for Speed PC coming with 4K, wheel and pedal…
The improvements aren’t just graphical, however- EA says that the PC version of the game will also have support for manual transmissions (something the console versions bafflingly lacked).
EA has confirmed a PC version of Need for Speed will be released, and it hits Origin Access in March. The PC version of Need For Speed will also feature 4K graphics and an unlocked frame rate, meaning your investment in the big graphics card is now ready to be put to use. Ahem. In addition to the cars, engines, wheels, and roads to race on (the staple of any auto racing game) the visually impressive title will also be getting a nitrous-style boost for PC.
The extra development time has allowed us to create the definitive NFS PC experience.
EA said manual transmission will be patched into the console versions, too, although there’s no time-frame for this. As with Manual Transmission this is a decision taken based purely on Community feedback.
Need for Speed is the first one that didn’t make to the PC along with the rest, and it’s not really clear why. The Showcase update is expected shortly after launch.
The PC version of the franchise reboot has been slotted for a March 15 release.
Lastly, players can pre-order the game to get the BMW M3 E46 as a bonus and Origin Access Members can play the game for a while starting March 10, 2016.
We look forward to welcoming our PC fans to Ventura Bay, we’ll see you on the streets.
