New Release Preview Rings For Windows 10 Announced By Microsoft
The new update is known as Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview Build 10586.107, and it will be introducing a fresh round of fixes to the operating system.
Microsoft seems to have only started working on the page, because no update has yet been mentioned or detailed on it. Microsoft has not officially launched Windows 10 Mobile, as odd as that may be, even though the OS is shipping on smartphones like Lumia 950 XL and Lumia 950.
In the meantime, users now on the Fast ring may want to reevaluate if perhaps the slow or release preview rings are more suitable.
If you’re not a member of the Windows Insider team now, does this new ring sound more enticing to you?
Not all users are curious about what changes have been applied to their Windows 10 computers and laptops, but power users and IT administrators really need to know how the new Windows 10 updates will affect the performance of their devices.
The update fixes some issues that previously led to some tiles going missing after a user would navigate through the out of box experience.
Many PC users have an extra system or two kicking around, which can be used to test new preview builds of Windows 10.
The description for the Release Preview ring offers some additional details, noting that it is ideal for Insiders who enjoy early access to the latest updates to Windows 10, Microsoft applications and drivers, but at “minimal risk” to their devices. The Slow Ring takes a more conservative approach, with “less risk” to devices.
The Slow Ring, on the other hand, receives builds at a slower pace, but when more bugs have been ironed out so there’s less risk to the user’s device.
All three tracks, or rings, will be able to provide feedback to Microsoft, which is the whole point of the preview experience. The Windows 10 Mobile build 10586.107 should also be coming your way, but you will have to wait a little longer. While the OS is being criticized for being buggy, the lack of enough apps too is adding to its woes.
It’s not such a hard thing to get the latest version of Windows 10 Mobile on your handset.
