We are sure every girl born in the 90s was a fan of The Powerpuff Girls and there couldn’t be better news than the return of this favourite 90s cartoon to make your weekend an unbelievable one. Buttercup is here to tell you that just because she’s a girl doesn’t mean she will act like a dainty princess.
The voice actors portraying the lead characters from the upcoming animated series including: Amanda Leighton as Blossom, Kristen Li as Bubbles, Natalie Palamides as Buttercup and Tom Kenny, who will be reprising his role as the Narrator/Mayor. Directors Nick Jennings and Bob Boyle will appear at an outdoor film screening on Monday, 14 March, to introduce the new series.
In the video, Blossom, Buttercup and Bubbles, the three young superheroes the show is based on, are going head-to-head with a “manly” villain that wants to destroy a “hippie carnival”. Series creator Craig McCracken is no longer involved, and the animation style seems a little cleaned up as well to match Cartoon Network’s current look.
