Weather service issues cold weather warning
The center of Arctic-source high pressure approaches northeastern IL during the early morning hours, producing bitterly cold weather and single-digit, near-zero temperatures and gusty northwest winds 12 to 22 mph.

But before next week’s relative warm-up, other areas in and out of MI are expected to endure this weekend’s freeze. The mercury is expected to climb to around freezing on Monday and-wait for it-50 degrees on Tuesday. Lake effect snow is forecast as the cold air moves over warmer water in Lake Erie.
“Wind chills extend all the way into Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa”, Schultz said. If someone has these symptoms, they should get immediate medical attention.
“We are going to have potentially life-threatening wind chills”, said Frank Nocera, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Taunton. Monday could bring more snow.
The following counties were under Wind Chill Advisories for portions of the weekend: Taylor, Raleigh, Fayette, Nicholas, Webster, Upshur, Barbour, Pocahontas, Randolph, Monroe, Mercer, Summers, Hancock, Brooke, Marion, Monongalia, Preston, western Tucker, Ohio, Marshall, Wetzel. We can expect about a coating to 2 inches of snow as the front moves through.

There is no official definition of wind chill and definitions vary globally, dependent on how it is measured.
Sunday: A slight chance of snow before noon. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 10. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Light snow will continue all night into the day on Sunday. Highs will jump back to the 40s by Thursday and Friday.
Highs on Sunday will “warm” into single numbers.
