Wenger: Arsenal will attack Leicester
This game will be away from home for the Foxes but they seem to win anywhere and they can do it again in my opinion.
Although Arsenal have had a relatively frugal season, signing only Petr Cech last summer and Mohamed Elneny in January, they are expected to field a team including the likes of £42.5million midfielder Mesut Ozil and £35million forward Alexis Sanchez on Sunday.
With Leicester finding so much joy on the counter-attack, Wenger said there was no chance Arsenal would curb their attacking instincts to deny Leicester opportunities on the break.
Ranieri predicted that Chinese football would attempt to overtake the Premier League “in the next three to five years”, following a series of high-profile and expensive signings.
“They are the team that has been challenging for the title for the past 20 years and for the last 12 they haven’t been able to clinch it”.
They suck you in and go very quickly in the opponents’ half. “It will be open on Sunday [but] Arsenal has more pressure because they have spent more money”.
Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino admits that it is important that his team continue in the same direction as they approach the final few laps of the season.
Faced with the threat of Jamie Vardy’s searing pace, Wenger may persevere with the centre-back pairing of Laurent Koscielny and Gabriel, rather than recall the ponderous Per Mertesacker. And of course, the rest of the league is in action too, with several tough matches for teams in the relegation battle and a lot of key matches for teams vying for upper-midtable position.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said on Friday that Leicester would start to feel nerves as the end of the season draws nearer, but Ranieri insists the heat is all on the Foxes’ title rivals. They still have plenty of time on their hands, and the task is quite achievable if they maintain their form of late. We don’t have pressure because we did our job. “I don’t think that we have a massive problem on that front”.
With the pressure mounting, Arsenal, who is also five points behind the leaders, will probe for mental cracks having inflicted one of only two league defeats this season on Leicester.
“Look how many journalists are here. Why? It’s a great story, so why the pressure, let’s enjoy it”. “We are close to continuing to dream with our fans and want to continue to dream – nobody wake us up please”. I don’t think where we can finish at the end. He forgot but I remember.
