Valentine’s Day: Where do our roses come from?
People associate flowers and candy, even the plush animals with Valentine’s Day.
Thousands of roses are in house and Crown Florals is quickly sending them out.

To keep up with the demand, floral designers have been working tirelessly the past 5 days to get arrangements ready before tomorrow.
Valentine’s Day is a boost to the market, as it comes in the middle of the slow winter season.
Celebrating Valentine’s Day is considered un-Islamic by some in Pakistan, but many still buy flowers and exchange gifts with others. If you are in the restaurant business Fridays and Saturdays are bad because they are already busy on those two days so any other day would be better. So, to answer them, here’s a quick run down.
You won’t find traditional cellophane-wrapped buds, teddy bears or heart-shaped chocolate boxes anywhere in the product selection of companies including Farmgirl Flowers, BloomThat, BloomNation and The Bouqs.
Most of the flowers go through American’s hubs to clear the customs process before being trucked to flower shops and retailers.
Florist and staff member Tomasi Vulawalu says they are real roses which they kept under controlled condition in the freezer to maintain freshness.
Consumers are expected to spend $147 per person on Valentine’s gifts this year, with $41 of that going toward flowers.
Newell said the shop begins preparation for the Valentine’s Day rush as soon as the winter holidays end.
“We started doing deliveries yesterday as some people like their bouquets to be delivered to offices so their loved one gets a surprise in front of their colleagues and they will continue today and tomorrow”.
Alison said: “With Valentine’s Day being on a Sunday it’s more of a three-day thing rather than just one day”.
