Wind-chill advisory issued for Lehigh Valley region
“Disturbances rotating through the upper low will reinforce the cold air mass, significantly over the weekend and also enhance snowfall at times”, according to a forecast published by the National Weather Service’s Blacksburg, VA, office.

With temperatures in the teens and single digits, the high winds will continue through Saturday, causing dangerously low wind chills of zero and 10 below zero during the daylight. We’ll see temperatures fairly steady around 20 through noon when an Arctic front will sweep through the area. Saturday morning wind chills will be as low as five below zero, and Sunday morning could be as cold as zero degrees before wind chill. Blustery, with a northwest wind 15 to 22 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 46 miles per hour.
Mostly cloudy tonight, a period of light snow and flurries will likely break out over the mountains late, spreading east across the I-40 corridor early Friday.

The extreme temperatures follow a snow storm that left some parts of the county with well over six inches of snow.
