‘Harshest weather’ of winter season to bring risky cold to state

The National Weather Service predicts temperatures well below freezing. The National Weather Service in Taunton has issued a wind chill watch…which is in effect from Saturday afternoon through Sunday afternoon. Much of California marked its 10th straight day on Friday without measurable precipitation and temperatures reached 95 degrees. Partly sunny, with a temperature falling to around 7 by 5 p.m. Wind chill values as low as -12. On top of the cold, the winds will be blasting behind the front bringing sub-zero wind chills through Sunday.
Sunday night: A slight chance of snow after 1 a.m. Increasing clouds, with a low around 8.
For Sunday morning, record daily lows will be possible from central New Jersey to Boston. Some areas of northeast Iowa will see 3 to 4 inches of snow.
The biggest change will be a re-enforcing shot of cold air.
Temperatures early on Saturday will start out in the lower 20s but will drip through the teens though the afternoon.
Saturday: A slight chance of snow showers after 4pm.
The high temperature today is misleading because it will occur in the morning.
Outreach teams brought 62 homeless people into shelters Friday night, de Blasio said. Windy, with a northwest wind 21 to 26 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 44 miles per hour. Expect sunny skies and highs near 20 degrees.
Tuesday: A 30 percent chance of snow, high near 31. This will provide a few morning flurries or a snow shower in parts of southeast Wisconsin. “This will cause the snow to transition to sleet/freezing rain, at times, until it gets warm enough for plain rain”, says Ingram.
