2 charged in robbery gone wrong where arm was severed
Watch the video here: (WARNING: Video may be considered disturbing)The driver backed up, and Sam then boarded an MTA bus in another attempt to flee the scene.
You can’t easily tell in the video, but it turns out Zachary Sam never had any intention of buying the pricey shoes.
When the two finally did meet, however, Pierre reportedly asked for $490 for the footwear, at which point Sam brandished a handgun and demanded the sneakers for free, the New York Post reported. The robber exited the vehicle with his loot and began to walk away. Sam had already left the SUV and started to run away.
Surveillance video shows the SUV speeding up behind the teen and running him down.
“He said, ‘Make a move and I’ll kill you. He’s trying to rob me'”. ABC7 reports that the teen will be going to jail when he gets out of the hospital. One of them spoke to NBC News and said “The kid pulled out the gun to shoot him while he was in the auto, and that’s when he tried to protect himself”.
The sneaker-stealing teen gunman who lost an arm when struck by his robbery victim’s runaway SUV was simply getting his just desserts, a lawyer for the driver said Saturday.
Sam escaped again and ran home, where he collapsed, police said. The robbery suspect was taken to Bellevue Hospital where doctors were trying to re-attach his arm.
While prosecutors charged Pierre with deliberately plowing into Sam with the Honda Pilot after the robbery, Harding insisted it was an accident involving a panicked victim. But Pierre chased after him in his SUV, and crashed the teen into a fence.
Pierre’s relative said he did not hit the teen intentionally.
“The arm was on the floor near the gun”.
Well, when dealing with an armed and likely risky robber, it’s seldom advised by law enforcement to take matters into your own hands – or SUV.
