National Weather Service issues Wind Advisory
The worst cold will be tonight into Sunday morning with lows between -10 and 0 and wind chills as low as -30 to -20.
A wind chill warning is in effect for most of MA starting at 4 p.m. on Saturday until noon on Sunday.
The overnight low is expected to be around 6 degrees, increasing only slightly to 10 degrees on Saturday, according to the forecast.
The deep freeze could cause serious health issues like hypothermia, the weather service warned. Lows will drop to around 7 and wind chills will fall below zero. Highs between 10 and 15 degrees. Accumulations will be light, but some may see reduced visibility with snow showers for those driving in the evening.
Friday night will be mostly clear and chilly.
Up to 37 inches of snow fell in Mexico, New York, in the last two days.
People have been spoiled by unseasonably higher temperatures “and now they have to deal with reality”, Marine said.
NWS meteorologists said in a weather briefing that the coldest time period will be from late Saturday through Sunday morning. Additionally, a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for La Porte County in IN and Berrien County in MI until 3 p.m. Saturday, where up to six inches of lake effect snow is possible.
