First bid for set of Air Jordans is $100000
Kobe Bryant said his NBA All-Star Game goodbye and the next generation of the West’s best sent him off a victor, rolling to a record-setting 196-173 victory over the East on Sunday night in Toronto.
More from the NBA All-Star Weekend and the Celebrity Game from Friday night, that pitted Team Canada against Team USA for a bit of lighthearted basketball that would feature more laughs than quality play.
The NBA All-Star weekend, held in Toronto this time, isn’t just about the All-Star game.
Starting for the West as voted by fans are Kobe Bryant (Lakers), Stephen Curry (Warriors), Kawhi Leonard (San Antonio), Kevin Durant (Oklahoma City), and Russell Westbrook (Oklahoma City).
Westbrook became the first player to win back-to-back MVPs since Bob Petit in 1958. But Pettit shared the award with Elgin Baylor in 1959. Paul George missed almost the entire 2014-15 season after suffering a disgusting leg injury, and he not only earned a spot in the game, he also poured in 41 points, falling one point shy of the single-game scoring record of 42 set by Wilt Chamberlain in 1962.
Twice an all-star game most valuable player and still only 31 years old, James should have as many more years as he wants at this event.
Paul finished with 14 points and 16 assists and is the leader in All-Star assists per game.
While the east have, generally speaking, been the better of the two conferences throughout the history of the match, the west have managed to take four of the last five.
Here’s hoping he had sweaters with him: Temperatures in Toronto are likely to stay below zero all day Saturday, though as NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said, “I’m told the game will be played indoors”. When he was subbed out with a minute left in the game, he was greeted by cheers and players seeking him out to embrace him. Though Bryant probably wouldn’t be too unhappy walking away with another All-Star Game MVP trophy.
NO VINSANITY: Carter, now playing for Memphis, is the Raptors’ career leader with 23.4 points per game and a former slam dunk champion.
“It feels so good to be able to speak to them about the game and to be able to share some of the knowledge that I have learned throughout my career to them so that they can carry on the tradition of the National Basketball Association and hopefully play 20 years themselves”.
Another Team USA with rookies and mostly sophomores, against Team World, mostly consisting of rookies, which as usual was about dunks and 0 defense, with Team USA winning 157-154.
In the second quarter, Bryant connected on a three-pointer that also needed a little help.
Curry added 26 points, and with the clock ticking down and the Air Canada Centre crowd cheering him on, the reigning league MVP and Golden State guard drilled a dramatic three-point shot that dropped through the net, drawing a massive roar of delight. They could have had another spectacular one midway through the quarter, but James couldn’t finish after a snazzy high bounce pass from Wade.
For the third straight year, the West was superior to the East. Then Lakers legend Magic Johnson led the pregame ceremony, highlighted by two video tributes, to honor Bryant.
Bryant then addressed the crowd, as they chanted his name at a deafening level.
“I do so much work to get ready and there’s certain games it’s there and it’s not”.
