‘The Revenant’ named best picture at BAFTAs
George Miller’s “Mad Max: Fury Road” left the field with four BAFTAs – all in the more technical fields – including costume design, production design, make up and hair and editing.
On Sunday, Tom Cruise presented Iñárritu the award for Best Film at this year’s BAFTA Awards for his AH-Mazing film The Revenant!
Inarritu, who took home the award for best director, conceded that DiCaprio had to put up with more of the chilly weather during filming but the actor said the whole crew had a tough time.

DiCaprio added: “There’s one person I have to thank”.
He also thanked his mother.
Mexican director Inarritu, who won the best director Oscar in 2015 for Birdman, said he was “overwhelmed” and described his Bafta win as “a true honour”.
Hollywood heartthrob Leonardo DiCaprio is cleaning up this awards season.
And, in a nice touch, his Titanic co-star Kate Winslet won best supporting actress for Steve Jobs.
After losing the top prize with both the PGA and SAG, this critics darling rallied to win Best Picture here as well as Best Director, Actor (Leonardo DiCaprio), Cinematography and Sound.
Mark Rylance won best supporting actor for the Steven Spielberg directed Cold War film Bridge of Spies.
“Room” star Brie Larson won lead actress for her turn as young woman held captive with her son in a shed for years. “I love you very much”, he said. “I’m sociologically programmed to want chocolate on Valentine’s Day”.
Irish immigrant story “Brooklyn” won outstanding British film.

The actor was buzzing as he came off stage for his interview. “The world will be a better place for it”.
British director Sir Ridley Scott will be hoping for his first Bafta win in the director category after being nominated for The Martian. “Theeb” is up for an Oscar for best foreign language film.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens picked up two awards, firstly for Special Visual Effects and then star John Boyega took out the Rising Star Award. The thesp beat out Brie Larson, Dakota Johnson, Taron Egerton and Bel Powley for the award.
The Baftas are often an indicator of Oscar success with last year’s winners – Eddie Redmayne, Julianne Moore, JK Simmons and Patricia Arquette – all winning the equivalent Oscars.
Six films compete for the title of outstanding British film.
“I have never been invited to the Oscars because, as you know, they are racist”, Australian comedienne Rebel Wilson said as she introduced a BAFTA award.
