India only economy not affected by global economic crisis: PM
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said India is the fastest developing country among the “larger economies of the world”.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sought to infuse some fresh energy into plans to convert India into a manufacturing hub, launching a week-long series of programmes under the Make in India initiative to attract investments and woo global manufacturers. The growth in India could be well above 7 percent, he said, adding leading institutions like the IMF, World Bank, ADB and OECD have projected a better growth in coming years.
Promising a stable and predictable tax regime, Modi said that this was the best time to invest in India as the government carries reforms including setting up a company law tribunal and an effective Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) regime. His government had added Deregulation making it a four-dimensional India waiting for foreign investment and manufacturing companies.
“India is a land of huge opportunities”.
When he was the PM his silence and inability to act against corruption hurt India’s image internationally and put citizens trust in the Government at an all time low. Former Union minister and deputy leader of the party in the Rajya Sabha Anand Sharma told PTI that Congress would demand a white paper on the economy in view of the “boastful claims” of the Prime Minister. The requirement of road, rail, waterways is enormous.
“We have always had leverage with Nepal and we have always utilised it for the good of India-Nepal relations”.
He said India was committed to harnessing its growth potential in a cleaner and greener way.
We want to give credit to Manmohan Singh where it is due. The confidence on Indian economy stems from the fact that in the past year or so, the country has received several proposals to manufacture products in India.
